Are Sandals Resorts Worth the Price?

Sandals Resorts is known for its all-included luxury experience. They have the most unique suites available and have inclusions that other resorts do not have. But the question is, is it worth it?

What it comes down to is you. Will it be worth it to you to pay more to have a carefree vacation where everything is included? You do not need to worry about the cost of the food or drinks and most activities. If that is valuable to you, yes, Sandals Resorts is worth it.

Whether Sandals Resorts are worth it depends on your personal preferences and priorities when it comes to vacation experiences. Sandals Resorts are known for its all-inclusive luxury offerings, adult-only atmosphere, and focus on romance and relaxation.

Here are some things that make the price of staying at a Sandals Resort more than others.

What Makes Sandals Resorts Worth It:

1. All-Inclusive Luxury: Sandals Resorts offer a true all-inclusive experience, covering accommodations, gourmet dining, premium drinks, water sports, entertainment, and even gratuities. You won’t have to worry about hidden fees, as almost everything is included in the upfront cost.

2. High-Quality Dining: With multiple gourmet restaurants, including fine dining options, Sandals is known for offering a better food experience than many other all-inclusive resorts. There’s a wide variety of cuisines, and specialty options like steakhouses, sushi bars, and French bistros.

If you are hungry or have a craving, you can go to any place that is open and enjoy a meal. Thirsty? Order whatever you want.

For many people, it is worth it to have unlimited dining at multiple on-site restaurants, which serve a variety of cuisines ranging from international to local specialties. You can enjoy gourmet meals, buffet-style dining, casual beachside dining, and more. Most restaurants do not require reservations.

3. Alcoholic & Non-Alcoholic Drinks: A lot of people think it is worth it for unlimited drinks. Sandals Resorts provide unlimited premium brand drinks, including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. You can enjoy a wide selection of cocktails, wines, beers, spirits, and soft drinks at the resort bars and lounges.

Even if you do not drink, you can ask for mocktails and virgin frozen drinks that make your trip worth it for you.

4. Luxurious Accommodations: Sandals offers a range of accommodations, from well-appointed rooms to extravagant suites with private pools or swim-up access. The Over-the-Water Bungalows, Rondoval suites, and other premium options make for a truly luxurious stay.

5. Exclusive Amenities: Sandals offers unique amenities like private offshore islands (at some resorts), butler services, and access to nearby golf courses. The “Stay at 1, Play at All” exchange privileges at resorts in St. Lucia, Barbados, and Jamaica also expand your access to dining and activities at multiple resorts.

6. Activities and Excursions: From snorkeling and scuba diving to sailing and paddleboarding, Sandals includes a wide range of water sports and land activities at no extra cost, unlike some other resorts that charge for such experiences.

One inclusion that makes Sandals worth it for scuba divers is it is included! This is likely the only luxury resort that does this.

Sandals Resorts provide a variety of land-based activities. These can include tennis, beach volleyball, basketball, croquet, billiards, fitness centers, and more. Some resorts may also have golf courses and offer complimentary rounds of golf.

The availability of specific activities may vary by resort.

7. Tips are Included: Last, tips are included which would run you a couple of hundred dollars at other resorts.

8. Airport Transportation: You don’t even have to think about your transportation from the airport, when you arrive at the airport someone will be there to get you on a shuttle to get you to the resort, all included in your stay.

Considerations Before Booking:

1. Price: Sandals Resorts are more expensive compared to other all-inclusive resorts, so if you’re on a tight budget or don’t prioritize luxury amenities, there are more affordable options available that may suit your needs.

2. Vibe and Atmosphere: Sandals caters primarily to couples, making it ideal for romantic getaways, honeymoons, or anniversaries. If you’re traveling with friends or family, you may want a different resort brand that is more family-friendly.

3. Remote Locations: Some Sandals Resorts are located in more remote areas, which can mean longer transfer times from the airport. If quick access is a priority, look into resorts closer to transportation hubs.

Unique Rooms & Suites

Another things we get asked is if the more expensive rooms are worth the cost. Once again it depends on you. If you rarely are in your room it wont be worth it to you.

However, on a recent trip to Sandals Negril, we were in one of the most expensive suites and a Skypool and it made us never want to leave. For us, it was worth the price as we felt so comfortable, and relaxed and we did not want to leave the room. Staying in that room made us feel like we were in a different resort.

For the first time I thought it was worth it to pay extra for the room as we enjoyed our time so much.

It’s always a good idea to research and compare different resorts to find the one that aligns with your specific needs and desires.

Pricing

Sandals Resorts are known for their luxury and all-inclusive packages. However, with such high-end amenities, the price tag can be steep. The cost of a Sandals vacation can vary depending on several factors, including the resort location, room type, and season.

On average, a seven-night stay at a Sandals resort can cost between $4,000 and $6,500 per couple and can reach up to $15,000+. This price includes airport transfers, unlimited drinks, meals, and even the minibar in the room. Additionally, Sandals offers various promotions throughout the year, which can help reduce the overall cost.

Another factor that can affect the cost is the resort location. Sandals Resorts are located in some of the most beautiful and sought-after destinations in the Caribbean, such as Jamaica, Saint Lucia, and the Bahamas. However, some locations may be more expensive than others, depending on demand and availability.
