What Is The Newest Sandals Resort?

The three newest Sandals resorts are Sandals St. Vincent, Sandals Dunn’s River, and Sandals Royal Curacao.

Sandals St. Vincent

Sandals St. Vincent opened in March or 2024. It is set on 50 lush acres on the island of Saint Vincent. Nestled on a private cove beside a river and next to a rainforest, this resort is a nature-lover’s paradise.

Sandals Saint Vincent stands out among the brand for its modern luxury, amazing grounds that are uncrowded and the new elevated food concepts.

Sandals St. Vincent introduced two-story overwater villas (building on the popular Overwater Bungalows you can find at a few other Sandals locations), which feature ground-floor bedrooms with glass floor inserts so you can see into the water below, a spacious second-story deck with incredible views; and 24-hour butler service.

Other new room types are suites with media rooms and suites with separate fitness rooms. You can also stay in beachfront butler villas with private pools and swim-up suites.

Sandals Saint Vincent will have multiple new dining concepts, including Gatsu Gatsu for hand rolled sushi and Izakaya; Buccan, a communal-style restaurant with open kitchen; the open-air Parisol Beach Club; Imoro for grab-and-go healthy dishes; Isola Pizzeria; upscale seafood at Scrimshaw; and Sora Italian. There will be 5 bars including a swim-up bar and a rum bar.

Complimentary activities at Sandals St. Vincent include snorkeling, scuba diving, paddleboarding, kayaking, Hobie Cat sailing, and tennis.

Five pools include a crescent pool and a heart-shaped pool, three whirlpools, and a pool specifically reserved for scuba diving lessons. As at all Sandals resorts, there is a state-of-the-art fitness center and a spa. Guests can also enjoy live shows and entertainment day and night at the Riverside Pavilion.

Sandals Saint Vincent is conveniently located just 15 miles away from the airport. As at all Sandals resorts, airport transfers will be complimentary.

Newest Sandals Resorts: Sandals Dunn’s River, Jamaica

Sandals Dunn’s River in Ocho Rios, Jamaica opened in May 2023. This is a stunning resort with amazing suites including the ultra-luxurious SkyPool Suites, which this resort brings to Jamaica for the first time. There are 48 of these swanky retreats, which are elevated and feature private plunge pools with an infinity edge that overlooks the Caribbean.

Other types of suites available among the 260 rooms are beachfront suites, swim-up suites, oceanview suites, as well as the first-ever Coyaba Rondoval Suites. These private round villas have access to the river pool, an oversized private swim-up pool, and a terrace that takes up the entire roof and features a Tranquility Soaking Tub for Two. These suites come with 24-hour butler service.

Twelve restaurants at Sandals Dunn’s River include the new restaurants Edessa for Greek, Cascata for Italian, L’Amande for French, Banyu for Asian, Hanami for sushi, Galene Seaside Grill, and Zuka for Latin Fusion. The food here is some of the best of all the Sandals resorts, in our opinion.

Zuka has a specialty rum bar, and there are 7 other bars including a swim-up bar, a rooftop bar, a beach bar, and the upscale Lapidus Lounge. Also new here is the Blum coffee shop.

Sandals Dunn’s River also features 5 pools, including 2 river pools, plus a state-of-the-art fitness center and a really beautiful full-service Red Lane® Spa. There are a full range of complimentary water activities including equipment and instruction, such as snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, Hobie Cat sailing, waterskiing, kneeboarding, and wakeboarding. You also get complimentary scuba diving and there are plenty of land activities as well. Nightly entertainment includes live shows, music, beach parties, and theme nights.

Sandals Dunn’s River is located just down the coast from the amazing natural attraction of Dunn’s River Falls, which inspired many of the design features of the new resort. You can easily visit Dunn’s River Falls and go rafting down the river, explore the waterfalls, and laze on the beautiful beach where the river meets the sea.

Sandals Royal Dunn’s River will be located just next door, allowing guests at either resort to enjoy the amenities, facilities, and activities of both with ease. It is slated to be a modern, luxurious resort offering 250 rooms and suites.

Newest Sandals Resorts: Sandals Royal Curacao

Sandals Royal Curacao opened in June of 2022 as the 16th Sandals resort and the first on the Dutch Caribbean island of Curacao, known for its vivid sapphire water and warm, vibrant culture.

The resort is set on 44 acres nestled into a 3,000-acre private preserve. This gives guests incredible opportunities to explore the surrounding nature. A white-sand beach stretches for 1500 feet along a calm, protected lagoon.

Sandals Royal Curacao offers 350 rooms and suites in 24 different categories (the most of any Sandals property) including the first-ever Awa Seaside Butler Bungalows with private pools and the first Kurason Island Poolside Butler Bungalows, which overlook a heart-shaped pool.

A unique feature at Sandals Royal Curacao is the Dos Awa two-level clear infinity pool, with fantastic views of both the sea and the mountains. Guests here enjoy a wide range of complimentary water sports and land-based activities, as well as hiking and biking in the surrounding preserve.

Additional facilities include a fitness center, a full-service Red Lane Spa with six outdoor spa cabanas and treatment rooms, two marinas, and 70 different dive sites. Guests at Sandals Royal Curacao can golf at the neighboring Pete Dye-designed 18-hole golf course.

Curacao is a foodies’ paradise, and Sandals Royal Curacao delivers delicious cuisine befitting its location here. The resort has 9 restaurants, 8 of which are exclusive to Sandals Royal Curacao, such as a wine and Dutch cheese bar and Sandals’ first-ever floating restaurant and bar, The Duchess, which is made from an authentic Dutch ship. There are also 3 food trucks offering local food, Spanish tapas, and Asian fusion.

Which Sandals resort was recently renovated?

Sandals Royal Bahamian, in Nassau, Bahamas, was completely renovated in 2022 at a cost of $55 million. This glamorous resort is located on beautiful Cable Beach and the renovations make the most of that setting.

They include new Beachfront Swim-Up Butler and Club Level Suites just steps from the ocean plus all-new Crystal Lagoon Swim-up Suites with butler service, giving plenty of luxurious options for a honeymoon hideaway or couples’ escape.

In addition to new zero-entry and infinity swimming pools, there is a wide array of water sports, land activities, and excursions available. Guests can also head off on the Love Runner for a romantic adventure at the private offshore island, which offers a beach, pool and pool bar with ocean swings, infinity-edge jacuzzi, seafood restaurant, and more. The resort also features a fitness center and the full-service Red Lane Spa.

Sandals Royal Bahamian introduced new dining concepts including the Coconut Grove (a beachfront lounge shaded by coconut palms) and three food trucks: traditional Bahamian fare at Coco Queen, Italian classics at Bahama Mamma Mia, and sweet treats and coffee at Sweets ‘N’ Tings. Other choices within the 10 restaurants include a gourmet French restaurant, a sushi bar, and an open-air seafood restaurant perched over the water.
