Sandals Royal Caribbean Overwater Bungalows and Villas

The overwater bungalows at Sandals Resorts are the most well-known suites. Pretty much everyone wants to stay at them until they see the price tag. At Sandals Royal Caribbean, you can choose between overwater bungalows and overwater villas with private pools.

Located just offshore from the main resort on the private island at Sandals Royal Caribbean, these overwater escapes are the ultimate splurge, designed for couples who want unparalleled privacy, elevated luxury, and constant connection to the crystal-clear Caribbean.

* Keep in mind that the Sandals Royal Caribbean overwater bungalows are getting some refurbishment and it looks like they will reopen in December of 2025. When the new rooms are open, we will get some new photos.

Overwater Private Island Butler Honeymoon Bungalow (Room Code OWB)

The Overwater Honeymoon Bungalows at Sandals Royal Caribbean are every bit as stunning as the overwater villas, just slightly smaller and without the private pool. They are beautifully designed and offer glass floors and direct water access, and come with every romantic touch you’d hope for, from overwater hammocks to a Tranquility Soaking Tub for two.

Key Features:

  • Private extended sun deck with loungers and ocean access
  • Glass vision floor panels with underwater lighting
  • Overwater hammocks, soaking tub with a view, and outdoor shower
  • Vaulted ceilings and custom wood finishes
  • Spacious bathroom with double vanity and walk-in rain shower
  • 24-hour butler service, room service, and private water taxi
  • All the same VIP arrival perks as the villa (private BMW transfer, welcome gifts, expedited immigration)

Why We Love It:

These are perfect for honeymoons or romantic getaways, offering all the overwater charm, amazing service, and privacy for less than the overwater villa.

Overwater Private Island Butler Villa with Infinity Pool (Room Code: OWV)

These breathtaking overwater villas offer everything the bungalows do—but more. The standout feature? A private infinity pool that looks directly out over the ocean. It’s one of the most luxurious amenities at any Sandals resort and adds a level of privacy and indulgence you simply can’t beat.

Key Features:

  • Private infinity-edge pool with ocean views
  • Glass floor panels for viewing sea life below
  • Floating water hammocks & outdoor shower

If you’re celebrating a milestone or want the most opulent overwater experience possible, the villa’s extra privacy, private pool, and luxurious extras make it totally worth the splurge.

Sandals Royal Caribbean Private Island

Beyond the overwater bungalows, Sandals Royal Caribbean’s private island is a true hidden gem. The island features two secluded beaches (one that’s clothing-optional), a pool with a swim-up bar, beachside cabanas, a Jerk Shack, and the Royal Thai restaurant (one of our favorites).

The vibe here is quieter and more exclusive than the main resort, making it the perfect escape when you want a little more privacy or a change of scenery. Whether you’re lounging by the pool with a cocktail in hand, enjoying a couple’s massage in the spa cabana, or catching a fire show at night, the private island feels like a resort within a resort, and it’s one of the reasons Sandals Royal Caribbean stands out as a romantic, luxurious getaway.

Are the Overwater Bungalows at Sandals Royal Caribbean worth it?

I think they are definitely worth it if you can afford it, but not if staying at the overwater bungalow will keep you from being able to take additional vacations to Sandals.
