One of the inclusions for Sandals Resorts in the Ocho Rios area is the ability to go golfing at the Sandals Golf & Country Club.

I personally am not a big golfer, but I went to one of the free classes one morning, played a few holes, and spoke to the manager and a few other guests to learn as much as I can about the course.

About the Course

The Sandals Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole, par 71 course located just 20 minutes from Sandals Ochi and Sandals Royal Plantation and 25 minutes from Sandals Dunn’s River. The course features narrow fairways, elevated tees, and breathtaking mountain and ocean views. With a layout that rewards accuracy and offers a bit of challenge, it’s great for both beginner and experienced golfers.

Pro tip: If you stay at Sandals Royal Plantation, you will be the first group to arrive at the course each morning.

Lessons & Practice Facilities

If you’re looking to brush up on your swing or just try something new, the club offers private golf lessons with professional instructors.

Included Classes: There are free group lessons every Tuesday and Wednesday morning at the driving range, a great opportunity for casual golfers or first-timers. When I went, I was the only person, so it ended up being a private lesson.

The driving range can also be used on any day for $25/day. There’s even a covered section, making it a great activity on rainy days when beach time is limited.

Private Lesson Rates:

$100 for 30 minutes (1–3 people)
$180 for 1 hour (1–3 people)

Golf Carts & Caddies

While green fees are included with your Sandals stay, a golf cart is required and comes at an extra cost:

$30 for 9 holes
$60 for 18 holes

Caddies are mandatory and must be tipped directly.

$25 per person for 18 holes

On-Course Refreshments

Two roaming beverage carts circle the course throughout the day, offering refreshments to players, so you’ll never be far from a cold drink, even under the Jamaican sun.

The Pro Shop

Located inside the main clubhouse, the pro shop is well-stocked with Golf essentials (tees, balls, gloves), branded Sandals and course merchandise, and rental clubs (for guests without their own).

It’s also where you’ll check in for tee times, book lessons, or ask questions about the course. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to assist players of all levels.

Clubhouse Restaurant & Bar

After of before your round, relax at the on-site restaurant and bar, which overlooks the lush hills and manicured greens of the course. It’s a favorite spot for both golfers and non-golfing companions to grab a casual lunch or cold drink in a laid-back atmosphere.

There is a coffee station, breakfast menu, lunch menu and of course a drinks menu.
