Sandals Grenada is one of our favorite Sandals resorts. Not only is the island stunning, but the resort is gorgeous, set against lush green hills along a breathtakingly white beach. Plus the food is outstanding.
Read on for our real and honest Sandals Grenada review to decide if it’s right for you.
Things to Know About Sandals Grenada
We love Sandals Grenada and consider it to be one of the best Sandals resorts for foodies, for scuba, and for romance. The beach is spectacular and it feels very luxurious and special. Plus, there is a ton to do off the resort so this is a great destination for couples who like to explore.
Getting to Sandals Grenada
Sandals Grenada is located on the southwestern coast of the beautiful island of Grenada, and it’s just 5 minutes from the airport so you can get your vacation started quickly. As at all Sandals, airport transfers are complimentary.
After going through immigration and picking up your luggage you will find a Sandals Representative ready to get you on a shuttle to the resort.
Sandals Grenada Rooms and Suites
Rooms and suites at Sandals Grenada are all gorgeous. Many have either pool access or private pools, and most have ocean views. We stayed in a swim-up butler suite and loved it.
Other swanky options are the SkyPool suites, which have private elevated infinity pools and amazing views (as well as butler service) and the private Rondoval suites, which have enclosed patios with plunge pools and waterfall whirlpools.
There are also beachfront walkout rooms, penthouse oceanview rooms, and one-bedroom butler villas with private pools.
Sandals Grenada Restaurants and Bars
Sandals Grenada has 10 restaurants that offer a wide choice of cuisines including Mediterranean, gourmet French, Caribbean, seafood, Asian, sushi, steak, and Italian.
There are 6 bars including a swim-up bar and a British pub.
For breakfast, we loved Spices, a buffet that also has made-to-order pancakes and omelets. We went there every day and the cook got to know us and knew our order and did an amazing job.
For lunch, there was also a buffet with a few items made fresh depending on the theme of the day. We usually do not care for buffets but loved the variety and once again the cook who did a great job.
We loved the sushi at Soy, the Wagyu strip sirloin at Butch’s Steak House, the ossobuco at Cucina Romana, and the butter chicken at the Tipsy Turtle. We also really enjoyed the Café de Paris, which had pastries, crepes, and custom coffee drinks.
The Beach at Sandals Grenada
Sandals Grenada is set on exclusive Pink Gin Beach, a stunning stretch of white sand along sparkling turquoise water. There are always plenty of chairs and umbrellas. In our opinion, this is one of the best beaches at a Sandals resort.
There’s a really cool enclosed area that makes the water into a pool that is protected by rocks which makes it great for snorkelling.
The Pools at Sandals Grenada
Sandals Grenada has multiple pools including a “fun” pool with the swim-up bar, activities, and entertainment throughout the day.
The quiet pool is close to the beach and also to Neptune’s restaurant so you can easily grab lunch, a snack, or a drink.
If you’re in a swim-up room you’ll have access to that pool, and there are also lots of rooms with private pools if you prefer that.
Sandals Grenada Activities and Amenities
Sandals Grenada has a wide range of complimentary watersports including snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboarding, windsurfing, and Hobie Cat sailing. Scuba is also free for certified divers, and I found the dive team here very accommodating. I saw my first nurse shark here, tucked in the coral.
This resort also offers SNUBA, which combines snorkeling and scuba diving, for an extra fee.
There are land activities like tennis, beach volleyball, bocce ball, shuffleboard, and table tennis, and there’s a fitness center with classes as well.
At night, Sandals Grenada has entertainment including talent nights, beach parties, theme parties, live music, and more.
There’s a nice spa onsite, where services are extra. Excursions are also extra but we highly recommend checking them out, as this island has a lot to offer.
Excursions at Sandals Grenada
During our visit to Sandals Grenada, we went on an island tour. We got to see mona monkeys in the jungle, a waterfall, a spice nursery, and the capital, St. George.
Other excursions include rainforest hikes, river tubing, historic garden tours, a Jeep sightseeing and waterfall experience, sport fishing, historic sightseeing and shopping in St. George, spice plantation tours, and sunset boat trips.
Sandals Grenada Honeymoons
Sandals Grenada is very romantic and is one of the best Sandals resorts for honeymoons. You even get a free honeymoon package if you come within 30 days of your wedding. This includes a bottle of chilled sparkling wine, a romantic turndown service with flower petals on your first night, breakfast in bed one morning, and fresh flowers.
Sandals Grenada Cost
Rates at Sandals Grenada currently start at $308 per person per night. Oceanview rooms start at $362 per person per night, and butler suites start at $590 per person per night.
Sandals Grenada Pros and Cons
It would be hard to come up with a con for this resort. Pros are the beautiful beach, luxurious rooms, great service, excellent food, and proximity to the airport. We also loved Grenada in general—it was gorgeous and everyone was very warm and welcoming.
