Sandals South Coast Overview
One of 7 Sandals resorts in Jamaica, Sandals South Coast is set in a secluded area, surrounded by a 500-acre nature preserve on the southern coast. It features a stunning, pristine 2-mile beach and romantic overwater bungalows, as well as an overwater wedding chapel.
This makes Sandals South Coast a peaceful getaway that is very popular for laidback honeymoons, destination weddings, and couples’ vacations. It is one of the top-rated Sandals resorts, with a Google rating of 4.5, as well as one of the most affordable.
The resort is divided into different areas called “villages.” These are now named Starlight, Silver Sun, and Longbeach, but used to be called Italian, French, and Dutch. There is also a Rondoval Village.
There are 9 restaurants, 2 food trucks, and 7 bars including a fun overwater bar. Many of the restaurants overlook the beach. There are 4 pools, including one of the largest in the Caribbean.
The only drawback to this resort is its distance from the airport—about 90 minutes on rough and winding roads, so be aware if you have motion sickness. It’s also pretty far from many of the popular excursion sites around Ocho Rios and Montego Bay, so we recommend sticking with closer options like YS Falls and the Appleton Rum Estate.
