The Asombroso Rondoval Butler Villas at Sandals Royal Curaçao are tucked away near the tropical gardens offering a level of privacy and tranquility that’s hard to find.
The moment we arrived, we were wowed by the modern design and spacious layout, these are the newest rooms on the resort, and it shows. Everything felt fresh, crisp, and thoughtfully designed. The thatched roof and circular layout of the Rondoval gave it a unique charm, but inside, it was sleek and luxurious.

The bedroom was open and airy, centered around a plush king-size bed, and the space flowed seamlessly into the living area and out to the expansive patio. Outside, we had our own private plunge pool, which we used multiple times a day. Whether it was cooling off in the heat of the afternoon or floating under the stars at night, it added a luxurious, exclusive touch to our stay.
One of my favorite features was the outdoor soaking tub, set into a tranquil corner of the patio with privacy walls and tropical landscaping around it. Paired with a glass of wine and the soft sounds of the Caribbean breeze, it became our go-to relaxation spot.
Inside, the bathroom was spa-like, with upscale finishes, a spacious walk-in shower, and high-end Red Lane Spa amenities. Every detail felt premium. My only complaint is that the toilet is behind a glazed glass door instead of being in its separate room.
Our butler was exceptional, always one step ahead of our needs without being intrusive. They brought us lunch poolside, made all our dining reservations, and even set up a surprise bubble bath in the soaking tub one evening with rose petals and candles. It made the experience feel incredibly personalized.
A Few Things to Know
- These villas are not beachfront.
- It’s a short walk to the beach and main dining areas, but we often called our butler or hopped on a golf cart if we didn’t feel like walking.
- Some guests prefer the less expensive 1-bedroom suites since there is more separation between the different rooms.
Asombroso Rondoval Location
These suites are located along the beachside of the resort. The Rondovals start close to the lobby and extend out to the far end of the resort. They are all fairly close to the beach. When we send clients here we ask them if they prefer the more secluded feel of the suites close to the end of the resort or being closer to everything at the suites closer to the lobby.
Keep in mind that these suites are along a road, so while you are enjoying your private pool, you will notice golf carts driving by on the other side fo the fence.

The food here is elevated and better than most Sandals Resorts. We loved the food trucks for lunch, the coffee shop each morning, and an iced latte during the day. For dinner, there are so many options, but my favorites are Zuka and Gatsu Gatsu.
Pools & Beach
The resort has several large pools, including the iconic Dos Awa Infinity Pool, a stunning two-level infinity pool overlooking the ocean, a quiet secluded pool and pools with swim-up suites.
The beach has clear, calm water perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. This is not the typical beach location since the beach that is swimmable is set on a river inlet with a floating dock creating the beach area.
Activities & Inclusions
At Sandals Royal Curacao, there are unlimited water sports like paddleboarding, kayaking, snorkeling, and scuba diving for certified divers. On land there is tennis, pickleball, beach volleyball, and access to a scenic 18-hole golf course (at additional cost).
At the main pool there is entertainment throughout the day and each night you can expect themed entertainment.
