Our stay in the Carisia One Bedroom Swim-up Butler Suite was everything we hoped for, private, relaxing and we loved the swim-up suite.
The swim-up patio was the star of the show. Stepping out each morning to enjoy coffee by the pool or slipping in for a swim right from our suite made the trip feel so relaxing and indulgent. The Tranquility Soaking Tub for two, surrounded by privacy curtains, became our go-to spot for winding down each evening, especially when our butler surprised us with rose petals and champagne waiting by the tub.
Inside, the layout was incredibly functional and beautifully styled. The bedroom was calm and airy, with a plush king-size bed that was so comfortable we had trouble getting out of it in the mornings. The glass window between the bathroom and bedroom added a modern touch, though not everyone may love the openness. The living area gave us even more space to stretch out, and the half bathroom was a convenient perk, especially during room service meals or when one of us was getting ready.
Our butler service was exceptional. From reserving beach loungers and dinner tables to having snacks and cocktails magically appear just when we needed them, they made the experience completely stress-free. One night, we had dinner served right on our patio as the sun went down, easily one of the highlights of the trip.

What We Loved

A Few Considerations
- The only thing I didn’t like were the shutters. They were annoying to open and close when we wanted to sleep or when we woke up.
- You won’t get an ocean view here, but the convenience and peaceful vibe made up for it.
- The bathroom has a single vanity, which may feel tight if you’re both getting ready at once.
- The swim-up pool is shared, so while the patio is private, the water is not.
The Carisia Building at Sandals Royal Curaçao
The Carisia Building is the best choice for couples who want to be in the heart of the resort, with everything just steps away. Located right next to the main lobby, it offers unmatched convenience, especially if you want easy access to dining, drinks, and daily activities without walking too far.
Just outside the building, you’ll find some of the resort’s key venues: Kanaal, the cozy European-style coffee and dessert bar; the breakfast buffet; and Butch’s Chophouse, one of Sandals’ signature fine dining experiences.
While the building doesn’t have beachfront or oceanfront views, it makes up for it by being central to nearly everything. The main infinity pool and food truck area are just a short walk away, and if you’re planning spa treatments or excursions, being so close to the lobby is a real perk.

The food here is elevated and better than most Sandals Resorts. We loved the food trucks for lunch, the coffee shop each morning, and an iced latte during the day. For dinner, there are so many options, but my favorites are Zuka and Gatsu Gatsu.
Pools & Beach
The resort has several large pools, including the iconic Dos Awa Infinity Pool, a stunning two-level infinity pool overlooking the ocean, a quiet secluded pool and pools with swim-up suites.
The beach has clear, calm water perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. This is not the typical beach location since the beach that is swimmable is set on a river inlet with a floating dock creating the beach area.
Activities & Inclusions
At Sandals Royal Curacao, there are unlimited water sports like paddleboarding, kayaking, snorkeling, and scuba diving for certified divers. On land there is tennis, pickleball, beach volleyball, and access to a scenic 18-hole golf course (at additional cost).
At the main pool there is entertainment throughout the day and each night you can expect themed entertainment.
