The Crystal Lagoon Hideaway Junior Suite with Balcony Tranquility Soaking Tub (HJS) is a hidden gem worth knowing about at Sandals Royal Caribbean. It’s classified as a Luxury Level room, which means no room service or concierge perks—but the space and amenities feel anything but basic.
Surprisingly Luxe for a Luxury Level Room
Located in the peaceful Caribbean Village, these suites are part of one of the newer buildings at the resort. The interior feels fresh and modern, with high-end finishes and thoughtful design. Honestly, we were surprised to find such a spacious, beautifully appointed room still categorized under the Luxury Level tier. Most rooms of this size and style at other Sandals resorts would be Club Level or higher.
But that’s exactly why we love it. You get the savings of a Luxury room while still enjoying an upgraded experience, just without the extras like room service or a Club Sandals lounge. For us, it was a smart trade-off.
The Caribbean Village
These suites are tucked into the Highgrove Building on the second through fourth floors, overlooking the resort’s Crystal Lagoon pool and tropical gardens. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed.
That said, the room is situated in the far back of the property, so it is a walk to the beach, most restaurants, and the main pools. There’s a bar nearby, but if you’re heading to dinner or the evening show, plan on a bit of a stroll. We didn’t mind since we enjoyed the room itself, but it’s something to consider if convenience is a priority.
A Romantic Room with Outdoor Bliss
Inside, the room is inviting and cozy, with a king-size bed, a large HD Smart TV, and a small seating area that is perfect for relaxing with a drink. The bathroom is sleek and modern, with recessed lighting, backlit mirrors, and a glass-enclosed shower.
The highlight for us, though, was the private balcony, featuring a Tranquility Soaking Tub for two, a privacy curtain, and a little bistro dining set. We started every morning sipping coffee in the garden breeze and ended most evenings with a quiet soak under the stars. It was one of our favorite parts of the trip.
As with all Sandals Luxury rooms, you’ll also find a mini fridge stocked with local beer, soda, juice, bottled water, and a selection of Robert Mondavi wines restocked daily. Since this room does not come with liqure in the room, we went to the bar and asked for a cup of Vodka and a cup of Rum to take back to our room and they were happy to provide it.
