Is there a sandals resort in mexico?

If you love the Sandals all-inclusive adults-only resorts and you are interested in going to Mexico, you might be wondering if there is a Sandals resort in Mexico. Read on for the answer!

Is there a Sandals resort in Mexico?

No, there is not currently a Sandals Mexico resort. While you can find Sandals resorts throughout the Caribbean, they have not yet opened one in Mexico.

There were rumors of Sandals breaking ground on a resort back in 2016 near Playa del Carmen. However, more recently I spoke with Sandals Executive Chairman Adam Stewart and he said that they were more interested in opening Sandals where there aren’t already similar resorts, such as the newest location in St. Vincent & the Grenadines.

But we do have some suggestions for adult-only all-inclusive resorts in Mexico that are similar to Sandals.

Best All-Inclusive Alternatives to a Sandals Resort in Mexico

Here are some of our picks for the best Sandals alternative resorts in Mexico.

Excellence Playa Mujeres

One of the best-rated resorts in Mexico, this elegant all-inclusive near Cancun offers a lovely white-sand beach, lushly landscaped grounds, 7 pools, 10 restaurants, 11 bars, a 24-hour fitness center, a theater, and plenty of activities including nonmotorized watersports.

Luxurious rooms, while not as unique as those at Sandals resorts, feature marble bathrooms, whirlpool tubs, and private balconies. Some have private pools, and there are swim-up suites available. All rooms also come with 24-hour room service.

Secrets Resorts

Also an adults-only all-inclusive brand, you can find Secrets resorts at 12 locations throughout Mexico, including Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya, Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Beach Cancun, Secrets Aura Cozumel, and Secrets Huatulco in Oaxaca.

Similar to Sandals, Secrets resorts are set on beautiful beaches and have a lot of inclusions. Rates there include unlimited dining and drinks, 24-hour room service, free WiFi, pool and beach service, and activities including watersports (but not scuba diving), tennis, dance classes, golf at some locations, and more plus nightly entertainment.

Breathless Resorts

Set in popular locations like Cabo San Lucas and Cancun, Breathless Resorts are adults-only all-inclusives with more of a party vibe and are popular with young couples and single travelers who want to party and socialize. They feature high-energy events including poolside DJs, pool parties, and live performances.

Breathless resorts offer multiple restaurants and bars, 24-hour room service, and a variety of included activities such as snorkeling, sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, paddleboarding, tennis, beach volleyball, yoga, fitness classes, and more. You can also take a variety of classes like Spanish, dancing, and cooking.
